baked apple with marzipan

If you come back to the warm living room from a long winter walk with a red nose and cold hands, a steaming baked apple with marzipan and vanilla sauce is just the thing.

Servings: 4

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Finely dice the marzipan or coarsely grate it on a household grater. Mix with chopped hazelnuts, almond slices and rum. Grease ovenproof dish. Wash the apples, cut out the core and place next to each other in the dish. Fill with the marzipan-nut mixture.

  1. Tip for preparation: To press the marzipan nut filling into the baked apple, you can use the handle of a wooden spoon.

  1. Spread 2 tablespoons of butter in flakes on the filling. Bake in a preheated oven (electric stove: 175 °C/ convection: 150 °C) for 20-25 minutes. The baked apples are ready as soon as their skin bursts open slightly.

  1. Remove baked apples from the oven and dust with icing sugar if desired. Homemade vanilla sauce tastes good with it.
